TELL ME SOMETHING I DON’T KNOW…
The CRNC is set to send out certified letters to the national board calling its fall board meeting.
Unconfirmed reports say CRNC Chairman Paul Gourley and CRNC Treasurer Tom Robins are supporting—for the moment—Denver as the site for the meeting.
There is a strategy behind this. Gourley and Robins hope to use the selection as a way to coax Colorado CR Chairman Charlie Smith out of announcing a candidacy for national chairman. (Let’s make a deal!) Both Gourley and Robins have shown lukewarm support for Smith’s rumored candidacy. In fact, Robins himself is considering a run for national chairman—that is if Gourley doesn’t run for re-election. (They can’t choose between themselves.)
Meanwhile, Colorado is the only state that has actively campaigned for the national board meeting, and the selection of a locale any other place would be considered a slap in the face.
