DMR: LINKED TO HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION...OF A BABY

STATE: A REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER...

COUNTY JAIL LISTING

HE WORKED FOR ROMNEY

Elliott was state chair of the Iowa College Republicans from 2001 to 2003. He was also student body president at Drake University.

The former state chair also considered a run for CRNC national chairman against Eric Hoplin in 2003.

The Washington Post wrote that Elliott joined the Mitt Romney campaign in 2006, but then quit to run for the state legislature.

It wrote, “Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney® scored something of a coup last month in the 2008 talent competition when he signed on Matt Elliott — an Iowa Republican operative — as a consultant to his Commonwealth PAC last month.”

Elliott ended up on the Iowa sex offender list, pleading guilty to exploitation of a minor.
