WISCONSIN, REPRESENT!

The home of Awais Khaleel, the fabulous Mary Ellen Burke, Russ Feingold, and Tommy Thompson is considered the “most representative state in the union” (screw you Minnesota!) according to a CNN study of demographics.

Here are the top five:

1. Wisconsin 36.4
2. Missouri 35.2

TRUTH, FROM A REMOTE LOCATION…

When you travel to certain parts of the continental United States you realize—pretty Goddamn quick!—that WiFi isn’t universally available. So, tonight as I come to you from a remote location (no, I’m not at the Israeli-Hezbollah border, but I should be), please know that I’m trying my best.

Sources say Indiana Senator Evan Bayh had some spirited college students at the CDA convention supporting the Senator’s “All America Pac.” Which means he’s actually running for president, but doesn’t want to be honest about it just yet. (All this just to be the guy to lose to John McCain?)

Anyway, they have a blog with video of Howard Dean’s address to the convention. (Although I’m told his training seminar was much more interesting.)

But, I must note, as I heard someone recently say: “We don’t need a Bayh president.”

LIFE IS A CAMPAIGN EVENT…

I took the weekend off from patroling the Mexican border—something that afforded me the appropriate time to “surf” various campaign websites. Much to my surprise, the websites for Arkansas Gubernatorial candidates Asa Hutchinson and Mike Beebe (a high profile race) were terrible. Hutchinson has no video and really large pictures that make the site feel unstable. Still, I guess it’s better than Beebe’s photo montage sequences that have a distinctive 80s feel.

TRUTH BE TOLD…

Congressman Patrick Kennedy said he wanted to be treated like an “African-American in Anacostia” if he were to be charged for crashing his car on Capitol Hill.

He was charged, and today he received “probation.”

I thought that if a black man from Anacostia crashes his car on Capitol Hill, he gets taken behind a filling station and beaten with a nightstick?
